Bring Cash!
Most vendors at the market prefer cash, so it's a good idea to have some on hand if you're looking to discover that hidden gem. The Record Fair at Dreef is free of charge and open from 10 AM to 5 PM on Saturday and Sunday, with parking available right underneath the location.
Plan Your Route
The Haarlem Vinyl Festival encompasses more than 35 locations, so it's wise to plan your route in advance. Visit the art exhibitions to experience vinyl culture during the day, and catch an in-store performance at a local record store, church, or winery. Most venues are within walking distance, but renting a bike, such as an OV-fiets, can be convenient. But first, explore the program!
Sort Out Your Tickets and Travel
The Haarlem Vinyl Festival offers multiple ticket options: you can purchase tickets for a specific concert or event at venues like Patronaat or PHIL. If you're interested in Q&A sessions, signings, listening sessions, and more at PHIL, consider a day ticket (€15) or a three-day vinyl culture ticket (€37.50). Want the full experience? Opt for the Weekend Pass (€195,-). All visitors can pick up their wristbands at PHIL starting Friday afternoon. There's also plenty of free programming to enjoy, including events at PHIL Café and Foyer, multiple exhibitions, and all events at Jopenkerk!
We encourage you to use public transport when visiting. Haarlem is only a 20-minute train ride from Amsterdam Central Station, so whether you're coming from the UK, Germany, or Belgium, we've got your transportation needs covered. If you're planning a last-minute visit and need accommodation, VisitHaarlem has listed some great options for you.
Please note that parking options are limited and that the city center can get quite busy during the weekend.
Visit PHIL - The Haarlem Vinyl Festival Hangout
Be sure to visit PHIL on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; it will be buzzing with vinyl culture and will be the go-to place for both daytime and evening programs, as well as a spot to relax after hours of crate digging. You'll also find the Haarlem Record Label Market (HRLM), free showcases by a diverse range of acts on Saturday and Sunday, a pop-up listening bar (line-up TBA!), Nederlands Grammafoon Genootschap, The First Ever Golden Record (made in Haarlem) and equipment, gear, and listening booths from partners like Audio-Technica, Pioneer DJ, and more.
Book a Tour at Record Industry
This might be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: Vinyl Culture and Weekend Pass holders have the option to book an exclusive tour at Record Industry on September 27th (very limited availability, with time slots available between 12 PM and 3 PM). You can register for the tour by logging in after you have purchased your ticket. Enjoy your Haarlem Vinyl Festival experience to the fullest!
Sort Out Your Company
You'll meet plenty of new vinyl enthusiasts just like you, so traveling alone is fine, but make sure to tell your friends and bring them along to Haarlem. They won't regret it!
