Top photographer Claude Vanheye added to HVF with a pop-up exhibition of his favorite record covers

19 September 2024

The renowned Dutch photographer will celebrate his 60th anniversary in 2025 with a series of different exhibitions, starting with Every Picture Tells MY Story at the Haarlem Vinyl Festival.

Visitors of the Haarlem Vinyl Festival will get a unique preview of Claude Vanheye's 60th anniversary on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the event, as the first pop-up exhibition in this anniversary series will take land at PHIL. Here, Vanheye will showcase his favorite album covers, for which he often not only took the photographs but also designed the artwork. It is a modest selection from the many hundreds of LP, single, and CD covers he has photographed since the 1960s.

His work will be shown in exclusively designed display cabinets by Ophon. In addition to his album covers, a few photographs from his international Rock Icons Collection will also be exhibited in PHIL.  The invitation from the Haarlem Vinyl Festival for Vanheye to exhibit his album covers is hardly surprising: after all, he is the artist who has photographed and designed the most vinyl album covers in the Netherlands.

Exclusive Talk
Vanheye will also give his exclusive talk about his photo shoots and relationships with iconic rock stars such as Mick Jagger, David Bowie, John Lennon, Frank Zappa, Chaka Khan, Kate Bush and Michael Jackson.
