Rare is the occasion these days that we walk up to a show and witness a performance that's completely unexpected, emotionally captivating and so intensely spiritual that it makes us part of the performance. Conny Ochs is an artist able to deliver such a heart-warming brise of emotional approach and honesty. No, we're not saying, this is the newest of new music you can get out there. Quite the opposite to be straight up honest. Conny Ochs draws himself near the most primordial creation of music - with a pristine commitment to his own emotionality. What is channeled into his music, tone, and lyrics is nothing but the truth. Sometimes happy, sometimes sad, sometimes nasty, sometimes nice, sometimes begging, sometimes proud, sometimes cheerful, sometimes bitter, sometimes lost, sometimes found.
Conny is living in Germany and Italy and has been touring the world for nearly 20 years as a solo artist and in bands as well as a collaborative partner with underground Doom legend Scott “Wino” Weinrich (Saint Vitus, The Obsessed, Spirit Caravan) with whom he released two albums as duo Wino & Conny Ochs. He has played renowned festivals such as Roadburn, Desertfest, and South Of Mainstream. He also works as a fine artist and graphic designer and is part of the RE:CODE RE:CORD exhibition premiering on Haarlem Vinyl Festival at the PHIL. In 2023 he published his first book of poems.
Conny's songs are trying to focus on the interplay between storytelling and visions - this he carves into the rough edges of songs that come out so natural, so organic, and sonically sparkling. While keeping his approach pure to the heart Conny Ochs reaches a stark authenticity that draws you in and makes you a part of the music, his travels and struggles, and his search for freedom in life and song. Almost to the date one year after his first album in German language and the accompanying poem collection “Wahn und Sinn” Conny Ochs will release his 8th studio album “Troubadour” on 25 October 2024, which marks his return to the English language and the very roots of his music - in a naked approach to the essence of his craft.
The performance at Sounds Haarlem will be the first opportunity to hear these songs live. As a very exclusive Pre-Release Show attendees and guests will be given the opportunity to immerse in the new songs played in a very deep and stripped-down manner, being pure at heart and tone. The new album will be exclusively available on this evening, a full month before the official release and Conny will be happy to sign copies.

Conny Ochs is een artiest die in staat is om zo'n hartverwarmende bries van emotionele benadering en eerlijkheid te leveren. Nee, we zeggen niet dat dit de allernieuwste muziek is die je kunt vinden. Integendeel, om eerlijk te zijn. Conny Ochs benadert de meest oervorm van muziek - met een onberispelijke toewijding aan zijn eigen emotionaliteit. Wat in zijn muziek, toon en teksten wordt gekanaliseerd, is niets anders dan de waarheid. Soms vrolijk, soms verdrietig, soms onaangenaam, soms lief, soms smekend, soms trots, soms opgewekt, soms bitter, soms verdwaald, soms gevonden.

Daarnaast werkt hij als beeldend kunstenaar en grafisch ontwerper en is hij onderdeel van de RE:CODE RE:CORD tentoonstelling, die in première gaat op het Haarlem Vinyl Festival in PHIL. In 2023 publiceerde hij zijn eerste dichtbundel.
Conny's liedjes richten zich op de wisselwerking tussen verhalen en visies - dit snijdt hij in de ruwe randen van nummers die zo natuurlijk, organisch en sonisch sprankelend naar buiten komen. Terwijl hij zijn benadering puur en vanuit het hart houdt, bereikt Conny Ochs een sterke authenticiteit die je naar binnen trekt en je deel laat uitmaken van de muziek, zijn reizen en worstelingen, en zijn zoektocht naar vrijheid in leven en lied. Bijna op de dag af één jaar na zijn eerste album in de Duitse taal en de bijbehorende dichtbundel “Wahn und Sinn” zal Conny Ochs op 25 oktober 2024 zijn achtste studioalbum “Troubadour” uitbrengen. Dit markeert zijn terugkeer naar de Engelse taal en de wortels van zijn muziek - in een naakte benadering van de essentie van zijn ambacht.
Het optreden bij Sounds Haarlem zal de eerste gelegenheid zijn om deze nummers live te horen. Als een zeer exclusieve Pre-Release Show zullen aanwezigen en gasten de kans krijgen om zich onder te dompelen in de nieuwe nummers, gespeeld op een zeer diepe en uitgeklede manier, puur in hart en klank. Het nieuwe album zal die avond exclusief verkrijgbaar zijn, een volle maand voor de officiële release, en Conny zal met plezier exemplaren signeren.
