Lava On Wax is a musical project by the DJ/Selector Matteo Fava. While living in Amsterdam Matteo starts to explore the vintage sound from Africa, Caribbean, Latin America, aswell as Soul & Funk music from all over the world. In the years Matteo enhanced his vast record collection with a special focus on Calypso, Soca, Afrobeat, Reggae and Disco. After his first trip to Trinidad & Tobago and Barbados in 2020, Matteo starts working closely with the local former record industry, licensing artists for european music labels, but also to explore forgotten music styles, genres and sounds from the past as well as to collect DJ's stories. From that moment on Matteo becomes a full time record dealer and music event curator in Amsterdam. Matteo also hosts a monthly radioshow called Lava On Wax at Echobox Radio, where he presents the highlights of his recent record finds.
Yorobi is fuelled by foundation jungle culture. Moved by the melting pot Driven by futurism, eclecticism and those exciting playgrounds between the genres, the eras and the flavours; Yorobi's been deep the laboratory since 99, forever studying the dark art of expression through beats and bass. Magnetised to the movement through her own mixed heritage roots, her musical vision is one of unity, fusion and no boundaries. Yorobi's selections and productions consistently create space for tempos, emotions and genres to blur and mutate with tension and release. Slowly refining her sound and spirit since she first cut her teeth in the underground clubs and pirate stations of Groningen. Yorobi has spent her entire adult life cultivating, exploring, celebrating and documenting centuries of creativity and the cultural contexts that frame and fuel it. Now fully focused on articulating this wealth of experience through her music, productions are a critical piece in the puzzle. Years of studio incubation have led to an ongoing flow of productions that began in 2019 and refuses to stop to this day....
Madba
Hervé is an Ivory Coast-born artist whose diverse background and passion for music have shaped his unique, groovy, and psychedelic club sound. A skilled selector and record collector, he also explores genres like ambient, jazz, dub, and hip-hop, showcasing his eclectic style in listening environments. Hervé has performed at the very unique Draaimolen festival and renowned Amsterdam venues, sharing the stage with artists such as Vladimir Ivkovic and Eris Drew & Octo Octa. Co-founder of Polychrome Audio and host of Polychrome Radio, Hervé is deeply embedded in Amsterdam's electronic music scene, known for his creativity, collaboration, and fearless approach to artistic expression.

Lava On Wax is een muzikaal project van DJ/Selector Matteo Fava. Terwijl hij in Amsterdam woont, begint Matteo de vintage geluiden uit Afrika, het Caribisch gebied, Latijns-Amerika, evenals Soul & Funk muziek van over de hele wereld te verkennen. In de loop der jaren heeft Matteo zijn enorme platencollectie uitgebreid met een speciale focus op Calypso, Soca, Afrobeat, Reggae en Disco. Na zijn eerste reis naar Trinidad & Tobago en Barbados in 2020, begint Matteo nauw samen te werken met de voormalige lokale muziekindustrie, waarbij hij artiesten licentieert voor Europese muzieklabels, maar ook om vergeten muziekstijlen, genres en geluiden uit het verleden te verkennen en verhalen van DJ's te verzamelen. Vanaf dat moment wordt Matteo een fulltime platenhandelaar en muziek evenement curator in Amsterdam. Matteo presenteert ook een maandelijkse radioshow genaamd Lava On Wax op Echobox Radio, waar hij de hoogtepunten van zijn recente platenvondsten laat horen.
Yorobi wordt gedreven door de jungle cultuur. Geïnspireerd door de smeltkroes van futurisme, eclectisme en die spannende speelplekken tussen de genres, de tijdperken en de smaken; Yorobi verdiept zich sinds 1999 in het donkere ambacht van expressie door beats en bas. Aangetrokken tot de beweging door haar gemengde erfgoed, is haar muzikale visie er een van eenheid, fusie en zonder grenzen. Yorobi's selecties en producties creëren consequent ruimte waarin tempo's, emoties en genres vervagen en veranderen met spanning en ontlading. Langzaam verfijnt ze haar geluid en spirit sinds ze haar eerste stappen zette in de underground clubs en piratenzenders van Groningen. Yorobi heeft haar hele volwassen leven besteed aan het cultiveren, verkennen, vieren en documenteren van eeuwenlange creativiteit en de culturele contexten die deze voeden. Nu ze volledig gefocust is op het verwoorden van deze rijke ervaring door haar muziek, vormen producties een cruciaal stuk van de puzzel. Jaren van studiowerk hebben geleid tot een voortdurende stroom van producties die begon in 2019 en tot op de dag van vandaag niet stopt....
Madba
Hervé is een in Ivoorkust geboren artiest wiens diverse achtergrond en passie voor muziek zijn unieke, groovy en psychedelische clubgeluid hebben gevormd. Een bekwame selector en platenverzamelaar, hij verkent ook genres zoals ambient, jazz, dub en hiphop, en laat zijn eclectische stijl horen in luisteromgevingen. Hervé heeft opgetreden op het unieke Draaimolen Festival en gerenommeerde locaties in Amsterdam, en het podium gedeeld met artiesten zoals Vladimir Ivkovic en Eris Drew & Octo Octa. Als medeoprichter van Polychrome Audio en host van Polychrome Radio, is Hervé diep ingebed in de elektronische muziekscene van Amsterdam, bekend om zijn creativiteit, samenwerking en gedurfde benadering van artistieke expressie.
