From sleazy rock 'n roll and jumpin' New Orleans rhythm and blues to exhilarating Mississippi Hill Country music, old school ragtime, and uptempo bluegrass. In this relaxed hangout, you'll experience a show with plenty of room for improvisation, where the music is created right before your eyes. Passionate musicians bring you this neo-vintage musical spectacle at Patronaat. This time, during this special edition for the Haarlem Vinyl Festival, Little Steve & the Big Beat and Shakedown Tim will perform for you.
Little Steve & the Big Beat
Rhythm & Blues with fiery guitar play, strong vocals, wailing saxophones, and a tight rhythm section. Little Steve & the Big Beat creates a unique sound where standing still is not an option! The driving force behind Little Steve & the Big Beat is Steven van der Nat, with his masterful guitar playing and powerful vocals. Since 2013, the group has performed on various stages and festivals, including Blues Peer, Zwarte Cross, Seven Nights To Blues, Breda Jazz Festival, Nuit Du Blues, and North Sea Jazz Club. Their EPs and albums have been well received, and new work from the group is expected to be released this year.
Shakedown Tim
Shakedown Tim delivers down home blues and uptown boogie reminiscent of the '40s and '50s, but their songs are contemporary. The sound of a vintage fat body guitar, a piano, a tight rhythm section, and a soulful singer creates a mix of low down blues, happy blues, wild Memphis boogie, swing jazz, juke joint stomp, with the occasional gospel. The band has already released two albums, and now they will be performing in Haarlem!

Rhythm & Blues met vurig gitaarspel, sterke vocalen, gierende saxofoons en een strakke ritmesectie. Little Steve & the Big Beat creëert een eigen sound waarbij stilstaan geen optie is! De drijvende kracht achter Little Steve & the Big Beat is Steven van der Nat, met zijn meesterlijk gitaarspel en krachtige zang. Sinds 2013 heeft de groep op verschillende podia en festivals gespeeld. Zo stonden ze op Blues Peer, Zwarte Cross, Seven Nights To Blues, Breda Jazz Festuval, Nuit Du Blues en North Sea Jazz Club. Ook werden hun EP's en albums goed ontvangen en verschijnt er dit jaar nog nieuw werk van de groep.

Shakedown Tim brengt down home blues en uptown boogie zoals die klonk in de jaren '40 en '50, maar zijn songs zijn hedendaags. Het geluid van een een vintage fat body gitaar, een piano, een strakke rhythm sectie én een bezielde zanger geeft een mix van low down blues, happy blues, wilde Memphis boogie, swing jazz, juke joint stomp met hier en daar een gospel. Inmiddels heeft de band twee albums op en nu staan ze dus in Haarlem!
