Slachthuis Compilatie Vol. 1: Tender Chunks In Gravy, Jesco, Inside Job

As part of the Haarlem Vinyl Festival, Slachthuis is celebrating: the cassette! This evening will focus on the first release of the 'Slachthuis Records' label! The release, 'Slachthuis Compilation Tape Vol.1,' is a collection of cassette tracks recorded on the Slachthuis grounds over the past few years.

Side 1 features recordings made in the old rehearsal spaces and Slachthuis13 (aka Studio Tuinhuis). Side 2 contains tracks recorded at the current location of Slachthuis Haarlem. These include live recordings from the hall, 8-track recordings made in one of the rehearsal rooms, and high-quality productions from the Slachthuis studio.

The live program for this release will be provided by three bands that also appear on the compilation tape.

Live:
Tender Chunks in Gravy:
A hometown favorite, old acquaintances, new mysteries—this might just be the OG Slachthuis band. During the first lockdown (remember that?), they recorded the now cult-classic album Covid! At The Slaughterhouse in one of the old slaughter halls. Of course, we're talking about Haarlem's most phenomenal phenomenon, Tender Chunks in Gravy. Raw and energetic garage punk stew. Their track "Cash" is on the compilation.

Jesco:
The guys from Jesco are no strangers to Spaarnestad! After multiple shows at Patronaat and Slachthuis (back when it was Slachtstrand), they return to our stage with their unique blend of Folk 'n Roll. Yes, you read that right, Folk 'n Roll. Expect banjos, guitars, washboards, bells, harmonica, and double bass! Their new single, "Homewrecker," was recorded at Studio Slachthuis and will also appear on the compilation!

Inside Job:
A Slachthuis compilation tape wouldn't be complete without a dose of youthful, ruthless punk. That's exactly what the boys from Inside Job deliver, featuring familiar Haarlem punk faces from Achterlicht, Eddie and the Road Crew, and Waterschade. Fast, loud, energetic, and uncomplicated. Their first EP is yet to be released, but you'll get a sneak peek on the compilation with "Battery Acid."

Other bands on the compilation include: Maria BC & His Supermarket Society, Asbest Boys, Burlers, E.T. Explore Me, Achterlicht, Eddie and The Roadcrew, The Covids, Hiqpy, The Protos & Them Peckin' Boys.
In addition to live bands, there will also be a label market featuring DIY cassette labels from across the country!

In het teken van Haarlem Vinyl Festival viert het Slachthuis: de cassette! Deze avond zal in het teken staan van de eerste release van het 'Slachthuis Records' label! De release 'Slachthuis Compilatie Tape Vol.1' is een verzamelcassette met tracks die zijn opgenomen op het slachthuisterrein de afgelopen jaren.

Kant 1 zal bestaan uit opnames gemaakt in de oude locatie van de oefenruimtes en Slachthuis13 (aka Studio Tuinhuis). Op kant 2 staan tracks die zijn opgenomen in de huidige locatie van Slachthuis Haarlem. Dit zijn zowel liveopnames uit de zaal, 8 sporen opnames gemaakt in een van de oefenruimtes, en hoogwaardige producties uit de Slachthuis studio. Het live programma bij deze release wordt verzorgd door drie bands die ook op de verzameltape staan.

Kind aan (slacht-) huis, oude bekenden, nieuwe onbekenden, misschien is dit wel dé OG Slachthuisband. Tijdens de eerste lockdown (weet u nog?) namen ze in een van de oude slachthallen de nu al cultplaat 'Covid! At The Slaughterhouse' op. We hebben het natuurlijk over Haarlems meest fenomenale fenomeen Tender Chunks in Gravy. Rauwe en energieke garage punkstoof. De track 'Cash' staat op de compilatie.

Jesco:
De mannen van Jesco zijn geen onbekenden van de Spaarnestad! Na meerdere shows in Patronaat en bij het Slachthuis, toen het nog slachtstrand was, keren de heren terug naar ons podium voor hun eigenzinigge staalje Folk 'n Roll. Ja, je leest het goed, Folk 'n Roll. Je kan dus rekenen op banjos, gitaren, wasbordjes, bellen, mondharmonica, en contrabas! Hun nieuwe single 'Homewrecker' is opgenomen in Studio Slachthuis en zal ook op de compilatie verschijnen!

Inside Job:
Een Slachthuis compilatie tape zou niet compleet zijn als er niet een bak jeugdig medogeloze punk op zou staan. Dat is precies wat de jongens van Inside Job maken. Met bekende Haarlem punx gezichten van Achterlicht, Eddie and the Road Crew en Waterschade. Snel, luid, energiek en ongecompliceerd. Hun eerste EP moet nog uitkomen, maar op de compilatie krijg je al een voorproefje met 'Battery Acid'.
