Inspiring Encounters
Experience a visual and musical program that tickles all your senses in the inspiring space of the Bavo Church.
Visitors are welcome to touch the 18 installations of raw wool, willow branches and ceramics in order to have a tactile experience every bit as sensory as the feel of vinyl and its cardboard sleeve in a church building with its centuries-old traditions. You are invited to engage with the terrifying, the miraculous and the mysterious of our existence and to enter into conversation with yourself and each other. On most Friday and Saturday afternoons there are special musical performances that seek to amplify and reflect the power of vulnerability and wonder, which speak from the combination of the installations and the sounds, as we look for deeper connection.
The organisers would like to thank the Protestant community, city pastor Tom de Haan, Opera Armida, various funds, the many employees, volunteers and musicians who make the art in the church possible.

Ervaar met al je zintuigen een visueel en muzikaal programma in een inspirerende ruimte. Bezoekers zijn welkom om de 18 installaties van ruwe wol, wilgentakken en keramiek aan te raken, om een tactiele ervaring te beleven die net zo zintuiglijk is als het voelen van vinyl en de kartonnen hoes in een kerkgebouw met zijn eeuwenoude tradities. Je bent uitgenodigd om je te verhouden tot het angstaanjagende, het wonderbaarlijke en het mysterieuze van ons bestaan en om in gesprek te gaan met jezelf en met elkaar. Op de meeste vrijdag- en zaterdagmiddagen zijn er speciale muzikale optredens die proberen de kracht van kwetsbaarheid en verwondering te versterken en te weerspiegelen, die spreken vanuit de combinatie van de installaties en de geluiden, terwijl we op zoek zijn naar diepere verbinding.
De organisatoren willen de Protestantse gemeenschap, stadspastor Tom de Haan, Opera Armida, verschillende fondsen, de vele medewerkers, vrijwilligers en muzikanten die de kunst in de kerk mogelijk maken, bedanken.
