Presentation of the Zang en Vriendschap record

How Haarlem-like do you want it? One of the first recordings made abroad with an electric microphone was by the Haarlem choir Zang en Vriendschap during their trip to London in 1926. Almost a century later, we will repeat this recording live with the same choir.

This is a unique event in the two-year existence of the Haarlem Vinyl Festival, and during the presentation, which is dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the Weergever, a 12-inch record filled with historical recordings will also be presented. As the icing on the cake, a number of the choir's songs will also be recorded live and direct-to-disc during the afternoon with unique recording equipment and microphones from the 1920s.

Hoe Haarlems wil je het hebben? Een van de eerste plaat opnames in het buitenland met een elektrische microfoon is gedaan door het Haarlemse koor Zang en Vriendschap tijdens hun trip naar Londen in 1926. Bijna een eeuw later gaan we deze opname nog eens live overdoen met hetzelfde koor in de Waalse kerk op zaterdag 28 september vanaf 14:00. Een unieke gebeurtenis in het tweejarig bestaan van het Haarlems Vinyl Festival! Tijdens deze presentatie, die in het teken staat van het 45-jarig bestaan van de Weergever wordt ook een 12 inch gepresenteerd met historische opnames. Als kers op de taart wordt deze middag ook een aantal nummers van het koor live op de plaat (direct-to-disc) opgenomen met unieke opname apparatuur en microfoon uit die periode.
