Vinyl Alliance presents: Meet the Experts: Andreas Wagner (kompetenz.io) 

The Vinyl Alliance, as the leading association for the global vinyl record industry, is once again set to bring knowledge and insight to the festival with a unique showcase illustrating the several steps of record manufacturing.

This session will dig deep into how an original audio source translates onto a pressed record, as heard through the successive stages of production. Associated Vinyl Alliance members such as pressing plant representatives, cutting engineers, turntable and cartridge manufacturers and quality control managers will be on hand to walk visitors through this unique session, present their craft, and answer all your burning questions about the vinyl format!

Andreas Wagner holds a master's degree (Dipl.-Ing.) in Media Technology with a specialization in audio-visual electronic media.
With a decade of experience as a room acoustics consultant for international cultural venues, Andreas transitioned in 2015 to a second career as an audio-focused software engineer, driven by a renewed passion for technology research and development.
In 2019, he joined the HD Vinyl project, marking his entry into the vinyl audio world with the Perfect Groove software.
Since 2023, Andreas has been working as a full time independent software developer, currently focused on the development of the Space Time Control application, the analysis and control front-end for the new Sillitoe Disk Mastering System.

De Vinyl Alliance, de toonaangevende vereniging voor de wereldwijde vinylplaatindustrie, brengt opnieuw kennis en inzicht naar het festival met een unieke showcase die de verschillende stappen van platenproductie illustreert.
Deze sessie duikt diep in hoe een originele audiosource wordt omgezet naar een geperste plaat, zoals gehoord door de opeenvolgende productiestappen. Leden van de Vinyl Alliance, zoals vertegenwoordigers van persbedrijven, snij-engineers, draaitafel- en elementfabrikanten en kwaliteitscontrolemanagers, zullen aanwezig zijn om bezoekers door deze unieke sessie te leiden, hun vak te tonen en al je brandende vragen over het vinylformaat te beantwoorden!

Andreas Wagner heeft een masterdiploma (Dipl.-Ing.) in Mediatechnologie met een specialisatie in audiovisuele elektronische media. Met tien jaar ervaring als adviseur op het gebied van ruimteakoestiek voor internationale culturele locaties, maakte Andreas in 2015 de overstap naar een tweede carrière als software-engineer met een focus op audio, gedreven door een hernieuwde passie voor technologisch onderzoek en ontwikkeling. In 2019 sloot hij zich aan bij het HD Vinyl-project, waarmee hij zijn intrede deed in de wereld van vinyl audio met de Perfect Groove-software. Sinds 2023 werkt Andreas fulltime als zelfstandig softwareontwikkelaar, momenteel gericht op de ontwikkeling van de Space Time Control-applicatie, de analyse- en controle-interface voor het nieuwe Sillitoe Disk Mastering System.
